When I asked for your suggestions on words that inspire and encourage on Instagram, grace was a frequent suggestion. I love that these pieces are made not only for you but also with your input!
To be honest, I struggle with grace. I struggle to give it and I struggle to receive it. I get stuck in the 'do good so I can receive good' mentality.
Recently, God has shattered a lot of things in my life to open my eyes to just how broken and self-reliant I am. I want to bring something to the table but I don't. I have failed miserably in the past, I will fail today and I will fail in the future but because of Jesus, God loves me anyway and is redeeming my life. This blows my mind and moves my heart.
For me, Creation is one of the many evidences of God's grace and love for us. The beauty we see in a leaf or a sunrise is an amazing gift that we get to enjoy, and did nothing to earn. If you can't tell, I have a thing for ferns. I find the intricate details of their leaves so beautiful. I couldn't help but add one to this piece.
Be Still
This was another phrase that was frequently suggested by everyone.
Let's be honest. We all need this reminder. In the hurried days, busy schedules and 'to do' lists, being still is the last thing on our minds. I think that being still often forces us to recognize that we are finite and can't do it all. I have found a lot of freedom in this reality.
A place that I often find rest is outdoors. That is why I designed this piece with a forest of Birch trees with 'Be Still' in the midst of it.
